Hello all, long time in the BVI's, like 25 years... However I have never stayed in St Thomas. We have a charter starting on a Friday (sleep aboard) and some of the party is coming in from the west coast, as you all know the ferry schedule dictates a night on STT Thursday before heading over for those coming in on the 4:30 flight. We need a decent hotel for Thursday night, nothing fancy as we are heading out first thing to Tortola and just need a place to crash. needs to be clean, reasonably priced and convenient to the ferry terminal...
Again i have been going to the BVI's forever just never spent more than 2 hours on STT and know nothing of it....

Thanks in advance.

Will

We used the Green Iguana for a similar stay. Not fancy, but checks all the boxes. Not sure how they fared during the storms. Good Luck.

I'd like to be a jelly fish, cause jelly fish don't pay rent.

"Windward Passage" is another option..nice rooms but quirky layout for a hotel..but right across from the ferry dock..

We tried to book at Emerald Beach for the 15th and 16th of November (a few months ago) as well and found them totally booked even back then. We ended up booking at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. This is at the end of our trip though, so even thought it's not as close to the airport for our departure, we're looking forward to trying it out!

I will forever recommend Windward Passage as they saved us from sleeping on the street on the first post-Irma trip when the curfew was quickly approaching!

We stayed at Olga's Fancy in April of this year on our way to VG. The owners are great and within walking distance of restaurants and the ferry dock. It's small, so may have nothing available for your time frame, but an enjoyable stay for us.

We stayed at Olga's Fancy as well. Owner was super nice. We walked from ferry dock. Walking distance to restaurants and to Frenchtown Brewing Company!

I can recommend windward passage, nothing fancy, price is right, while no beach though its central close to restaurants, close to shopping, close to the French quarter (can't remember if it was called that) plus as someone mentioned right across from the ferry terminal.

You can also check AirBNB. My Wife and I did that a few years ago and stayed on a sailboat where we were joining our charter the next day.

Windward Passage is still in rough shape from Irma but they are open. Great location and friendly staff. Walking distance to Frenchtown and most of Charlotte Amalie. And as mentioned a few hundred yards from the ferry terminal.

Walk to HLS. It's under new ownership but the food is still good. Only place close by on the water.

Hoping " Hook, Line and Sinker" has vastly improved since the new owners took over. We ate there soon after the takeover and, to be kind, it was awful! We loved the old "HLS" and it will be hard for us to give the new one another shot. What we have discovered is that the owners of the still wrecked " Oceana" own " Fresh Bistro" and " Grande Cru" in Yacht Haven and have excellent food and service.
