After many weeks of searching various websites, perusing this forum, and asking way too many questions, I just booked this place for 5 nights in Orient Village.

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2925277?guests=1&adults=1

A little more than I wanted to spend, but it felt like a good match for us. We will miss staying with our friends at Club Fantastico, but our budget just couldn't make it work. We are staying at Simpson Bay Resort our first 4 nights and then move to Cote Chic for 5 nights.....super stoked!!! I gave La Playa a hard look, but just didn't want to take the chance of them not making their May opening....maybe next visit.

Thanks to all for sharing info throughout my search. I will return the favor by sharing a trip report of our visit.

We stayed at one of Mourn’s other units a couple years ago. Great hosts. Her husband owned a car rental business. They picked us up at the airport $50 and we grabbed a car from him when we felt like getting away from the village. I thought that worked out better than just having a car sitting out front for days without use.

Thanks for the info, TravelHat...nice to know. We already have a car reserved for our 9 day stay with Lesley. We've used him every time and have never been disappointed. The car may sit a lot during our 5 days at Orient, but that's okay....I want to do my part and help pump much needed money back into the economy there. Really looking forward to our trip!

Understood. If you are there on a Thursday and you like mussels, Cote Plage in the village does mussel night. The best. I liked that restaurant so much we ate there 4 times that week. I knew it was going to be good when 1. We were the only ones that spoke English there and 2. Mourne and Dominique, her husband, were unexpectedly sitting next to us. One of the nights an older gentleman came over to our table to thank us for WWII. I think he just wanted to give my wife the cheek kisses. 😀

Enjoy. One cool thing was they opened a cabinet and there were 10-12 bottles of booze and Moure said help yourself and leave what you don’t use. We made a couple of drinks from the supply and left our half bottles for the next crew. Great experience.

Lol...at least he didn't give you the cheek kisses.

Thanks for the dining reference but neither of us are foodies, and wife does not eat sea food. We both love Le Piment for some of their simpler dishes. I'd like to go to Grand Case and give a local lolo a try on our next visit.
