My son is starting at St George University in mid-August, and we were thinking about sending him off with a sailing charter, probably early August. I know that's hurricane season but Grenada is relatively insulated from storms. How about rain/wind? Does anyone have experience with that area at that time of year? I don't want to make a dumb mistake. Any opinions or suggestions welcome!

I haven't been at that time of year, but keep in mind that Carnival in Grenada is around the beginning of August, the more popular accommodations can fill up quickly.

Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!

I've spent August and September in Grenada living on my boat or hauled out and doing work on it. From what I remember the weather wasn't much different to earlier in the year. Of course there is always a chance of a named storm but Grenada usually escapes and you can get cancellation insurance. I'd go for it.
