We are chartering the week of Oct. 18-26th and I just realized Foxy's Cat Fight and Halloween Party is Oct. 27th. Would this be a problem for me for getting mooring balls in Great Harbor or White Bay that week? Or just right around that date a day or two? Also, are there mooring balls in front of the B-Line bar and Sandy Cay? I know there were pre Irma but didn't think about currently. We turn the boat in on Oct. 26 the day before the events but I am now worried about a huge increase in boats the week that I'll be there.
There are mooring balls near Diamond Cay (in front of Taboo and also BLine). I believe there is approx. 16-18.
We tend to count the lights on the boats at night as we sit on the terrace relaxing before bed. It is fun to watch it flex from 1-2 boats to as many as 26!
Sometimes you go to bed and wake up with massive (100+ feet) anchored between Sandy Ground Estates and Sandy Spit.
Boat name is "Skat", or "9906". 233 ft long, four levels, 33rd largest in the world (at the time this photo was taken in 2015). Owned by the gentleman that developed Microsoft Excel.....Swoon!
Great Harbor will fill up on Friday, October 25th, that is when everyone signs up. You can expect most of those boats to also spend Saturday October 26th there too. Other then that, you shouldn't have any issues. It is a quite time of the year.
Sorry, I meant the "weekend of" the 2nd & 3rd. It will remain a one day event. HOWEVER, please watch for updates, as this is a tentative date pending further discussions with the RBVIYC & Foxys
I don't know if Capt. Jay and Debbie can get their new to them cat there by then. We splash Echoes, our Beneteau 423, on October 21 in Puerto Rico and hope to make it to Jost by then. I don't know if our one-legged cat will be in the race this year; roller furling main is not as sporty as the old super light taller rig Beneteau 40 De Life.
