I know both are loved by many. We (3 couples) are considering a 1 week visit next spring as part of a trip, anyone stayed at both who can compare? If I remember from our stay at Myett’s years ago, the 4 cottages are across the road from Myett’s and the 3 Agape buildings are just up the hill? I know the girls would like a pool but I also know they would love staying in CGB. Thanks!

The evening "scooter rallies" in CGB have affected friends of ours who have stayed at the cottages for years.."never again" was their refrain after their last trip..that makes Agape a big plus for many!

I'm sure Malcom can explain it better. But I recently read that scooters were becoming a problem on Tortola and even more so on CGB.

Full disclosure - I am the owner of Agape. You are correct that we are located across from Myett's and up the hill a little bit (definitely walking distance). This protects you from any street noise directly on CGB and provides some spectacular views from all the balconies. CGB Cottages are down the street towards the west end of the bay and are directly across the street from the cemetery, not really from Myett's. I've been in the CGB Cottages several years ago when we were considering purchasing the property and they are very nice. Great size, nicely appointed, and would be good for couples traveling together. Any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!! Cheers, Jason www.agapecottages.com

Anybody that hasn't should click on Jason's webpage link and take a look at his sunset cam. Great shot of CGB, and nice to see everything much greener than a few months ago.

It really is greening up here and looks beautiful. It's tough to see in the webcam but even JVD is starting to get pretty green and looks great! For anyone interested in CGB Cottages, here is the link to their website. I'm happy to share this information as we frequently refer guests to each other based on availability and guest preference. Our guests typically want quieter places and our great views. If you want to be directly on the road so walking to the beach is easier, CGB Cottages are great. Cheers, Jason

Thanks Jason, greatly appreciated! The cottages do look very nice, but we do like the idea of being up a little.

Our website has quite a few pictures. Let me know if there's something you'd like to see more detail of.

I have been to both and stayed at neither...just visited from sea
I would recommend Agape as it is a little more secluded as it is slightly up the hill yet the beach is still accessible

I agree it would be nice to be up a bit, especially on cruse ship days. We weren’t bothered by the day visitors when staying at Myett’s in May (lower season), and we can always go to Smuggler’s or Josiah’s to get away for a few hours. But I prefer to be just out of the action and have that view...
The girls do like the cottages from friends’ descriptions and the pictures, and we have one person who has a hard time navigating hills. And it looks like Lighthouse Villas has a small pool and the girls like that...So I may lose out on Agape...but there’s still a little time...

The new Quito's Inn is right up against the west side of the Lighthouse Villas. The guest houses that face directly to the bay should be unchanged looking towards JVD but may have limited sunset views. I can try and get a picture if you're interested.
At Agape Cottages, we are offering a TTOL discount for the 2019/20 season. Just mention TravelTalk when you make your reservation and receive a 10% discount!! Hope to see everyone this year. If you're sailing and stop by Cane Garden Bay, take a walk up our driveway and check out the great views and have a cold drink on us!
Cheers, Jason

Malcolm so it sounds like it was a major issue for your friends, can anyone else who has stayed in the Cottages recently comment on how it affected your stay? Or anyone who lives there... Does the noise go late into most evenings? Just trying to get a good sense of the problem as we never heard that in our visits years ago and this must be relatively new. We also have one friend who has mobility issues and will need to stay at the Cottages or at Myett’s or somewhere else on the beach... Thanks
