They didn't accumulate, they are always there, sometimes covered in sand.

Will never forget first hurricane here. When it was over I went to our cave on the beach and thought it had collapsed, nothing but rocks! Took a minute or two to realize.

The rapid transitions from sandy and sometimes really wide beaches to rocky shorelines due to storms and changes in sea conditions have always amazed me but Maho and Cupecoy are usually the most remarkable that I'm aware of. But Mullet and her ever changing sand cliff can be shocking, too.
