A close friend of ours was scheduled to visit Dominica for a scuba dive trip along with a group of other folks. They filled out the required paperwork and had their Covid testing done per the requirements of the Dominican government. Upon submitting said paperwork and test results they were told, "come on down, you're OK to go". Guess what? when they arrived they were immediately shipped off to be tested and quarantined, Again, this is despite meeting all requirements as set forth to them and being told they were good to go.
My friend was shipped via bus to a hotel 2 hours away which he has to pay for, plus he had to pay for another test. He would also have to pay out of his own pocket for transportation back to the capital. Now they tell him (three days later) they have "lost" his test and he has to be retested (at his expense) and continue to quarantine before he can even leave the country to go back home. What kind of BS is this other than a money grab?

Don't tell visitors to come down when you plan on scamming them. We have been to Dominica, but never again. He too has been there before, it was one of his favorite places to dive. I highly doubt he will ever go back again. Short sighted on their part, screw people now and make a few bucks but you've lost them and fut
ure revenue forever.
