Where was I?

I see an 'island Christmas tree', better known as a century plant or Agave. Doesn't tell me enough to figure it out except it is somewhat tropical.

Nope to Bahamas. This is a beautiful blue sea, but not a Caribbean one.

The type and shape of the trees looks like that found on the coastline of the Côte d'Azur but I can't narrow it down further. But I'll guess Ventimiglia?

Zanshin has narrowed down the area. It is not Ventimglia, but a place you might go to see very, very, wealthy people. Think like with a "b", not with a "m".

So my clue probably was awful because the area is full of wealth.

But the bay I am sitting in has money in the name. Or the name of the cap or town would be great.

This is the city we set sail from.

I lived there for a year so that picture gave it away - Antibes, France. I don't know where the first picture was taken, that doesn't look familiar. I loved the area, but only spent time in Antibes at "La Gaffe" - the British pub with a nautical theme. I believe that the Picasso museum is also in that picture

Zanshin is the winner. The first picture I was sitting in a dinghy in Billionaires Bay. Cap d’Antibes. The yachts in Antibes were huge, like DreAMboat 295’, and we were cruising in a dinghy.

Carol - it's tough to not be able to guess... but it would be unfair to guess-and-run...

But don't despair, the next picture gives the location away and someone else will get to post their photo. I have a couple of different locations with cannons, all of them with at least one difficult and one easy picture per location.

Carol, same issue I'm having now. Like Zanshin said, wouldn't be fair to guess without a photo to use if it was correct.

I've pruned my Adobe Lightroom photo collection down to a mere 5000, down from the previous high of 17000.... so I've got a couple of pictures left before I run dry

I'll wait a bit before adding the giveaway picture so that pretty much anyone looking at it might guess (plus the "google maps" time limit should be reached soon). If not, it might be time to let this thread die. I started a similar thread on sailnet.com over a year ago that has just now died down. It was a bit more active, pictures had to a have a water/sailing theme but you didn't have to have taken them yourself.

I'm off for the evening - so here's my next image. All 3 pictures were shot while standing in almost the same location, I just rotated my angle by several degrees.

Maybe we need to switch to allowing photos taken by others? Hate to see this game disappear.
