Good Morning. We flew Delta direct Boston to STT Saturday 4/24. On approach to land, and looking out the window, I was amazed by the large lengths/ mini islands of Sargassum weed as far in many directions I could see. Having read about this on Ttol SXM. USVI etc. it was an eye opener. We are staying near RedHook Landing and just watched deposits drifting in and settling on the rocky shoreline in front of our condo Rentel. Will update if I see lots of it ion beaches as we peruse the Island . Quich showers STT STJ 5-6 this AM. Sunny and 86 @ 9:300 am. Be Well

It is here, but not as thick as it will be later in the season. Winds are east or southeast, so you can expect sargassum at the windward shorelines. The wind is blowing sargassum into Coral Bay and it has piled up occasionally along the shoreline from Cocoloba Plaza to the mangroves by the dumpster and Love City Mini Mart. This anaerobic bacteria are working hard and perfuming the downwind land areas with hydrogen sulfide (stinky sulfur smell). It happens this time of year consistently.
Cheers, RickG
