I got ready to post this on the other thread.....and then realized Carol had shut it down. If you have already shared your opinion on this place, no need to respond again. But since I was there two weeks ago, I thought our impressions might be helpful. Let me start with our history with this place. We ate several times at the old location and were generally pleased with the food while service was spotty. The last time we went, I had made a reservation two days in advance. When we got there, they took us to a table inside right next to the kitchen. The outside tables, which I considered the prime locations, were full of what appeared to be locals. I could be wrong but I doubt those folks made reservations two days in advance. I questioned why they did not have an outside table reserved for us and received an unsatisfactory answer. We walked out.....the first time I have ever done that as I am generally pretty easy to please. I wasn't sure I would ever go back. When they moved to the new location, my wife convinced me to give it another try. We have been three times at the new location....the last being two weeks ago. The good.....I think the location and setting are lovely. This is important to the wife and she really likes the ambiance of this place. The food is good to very good. Everyone's tastes are different but I think most anyone can find something on the menu they will enjoy. The not so good.....the service is still spotty. On our last visit, our first server seemed uninterested. We did have another server who was more responsive. I am used to having to flag servers down on the French side so I know how to get someone's attention when needed. Sale & Pepe could be so much better if they would have some staff training. They are really hurting themselves by not having a trained, professional wait staff. And it's not that hard to do. Overall, the ambiance and food will keep us coming back for the time being. But I am hopeful they will up their game with service.

What a very nice critique. I hope someone, in the friendliest way possible, will see to it the owners see this response. It could help them seriously and consistently up their game.

Respectfully,

pat

definitely agree with your critique as I want this restaurant to succeed
being in the business it is very hard to accept criticism when you think you are doing a good job but you learn through what your guests review
the staff only needs to be more attentive, properly trained and to be on the floor within eyesight
Really don't need to ask if the food is okay as that is constantly very good
I agree they serve food and never look at the other tables
I would love to train the staff if only I could

The staff has always been the problem.

Thank you, Lesley. I was pretty sure you would do this as I'm sure it's something the owners would want to be aware of. I know I would if it were my restaurant.
