We're trying to decide if we want to order the Binax travel testing kits or just go somewhere near Orient for our required test to re-enter the US. Has anyone tested recently in this area? If so, where did you go, how long did it take to test and get the results, and how much did it cost? The Binax option is $150 for six tests, but we're a little hesitant to do it ourselves. There will be three of us traveling and testing.
You can get it done at the pharmacy at Hope Hill. Very close, but more expensive and they dig for brain tissue. I have my Binax tests already for our October trip.
This is from the BINAXNOW website. "This test does NOT meet the CDC testing requirements to enter the U.S. when returning from a trip abroad." Is there an approved version?
There's the BinaxNow antigen test that you can get from most pharmacies and then the BinaxNow Ag Card test that is primarily available online and more expensive. The Ag Card option is the one that's approved for entering the U.S. and comes with virtual monitoring.
Both tests are identical and both use exactly the same card, "BixnaxNOW Ag Card". The difference, and why you are paying more for the approved for travel version, is that it is proctored either in person or through telemedicine. Both tests use exactly the same reagent and card. With the proctored version you get a lab report that meets all of the guidelines from the CDC and is accepted for entrance to many countries including return to the USA.
If you don't mind me asking, what is the expiration date on your kits? I have a friend joining me for my November trip, and she is also taking a spring 2022 trip overseas. Mine that I have I ordered in August and they show an October expiration. She is of course, hoping to use her kit for both trips. so she is trying to order as close to November as possible. Thanks
Sounds good. Just ordered the six pack of Binaxnow Ag. Hope this gets us there and back.
How much was shipping? When I start the process to buy, it asks for all of our names and birthdates before showing a final total cost. Iβm not ready to order yet, and donβt want to fill everything out just to see the shipping estimate.
Hi, with your lot# and part code (195-***), you should be able to find a new expiration date for your BinaxNOW product. Abbott extended the expiration date by 3 months and than by an additional 3 months with approval from the FDA . Below you will find a link to one of many announcements of the extensions. If you have questions or need more help than let me know.
All BinaxNOW kits have a 12 months expiration now. Your friend that is traveling with you should be able to buy kits now that would be good info the spring of 2022.
Is only one test required per person? I've seen suggestions to buy two per person traveling, but I thought that might just be in case something goes wrong with the first one.

Yes - if you have an error having a back up is a good thing!!
Hi, I can point you towards this thread a}Accepted tests Thread which covers a lot of the information about BinaxNOW. There have been a couple of threads covering the subject, lately. If you would like the information that I have in a direct message just let me know.
NOT addressing Binax Now, but there is a story in the Daily Herald today that says the PCR testing center behind the McDonalds in Marigot is now closed. People were advised to go to Biopole Antilles Laboratory, with one location in Marigot and the other at a drive through location at Hope Estates near Orient.
Any consideration being given to making the BinaxNOW home test acceptable for entry to SXM?
Hi!
I have emailed the SXM EAHS and I have in writing that they will accept the .BINAXNOWβ’ COVID-19 Ag CARD HOME TEST AND NAVICAβ’ APP It is NOT listed on their website, (before anyone quotes that it is not, I am giving full disclosure) that is why I asked the specific questions I did. I will share email to SXM and from SXM I also went to the following link https://www.globalpointofcare.abbott/en/product-details/binaxnow-covid-19-home-test-us.html to read up on this. I will be purchasing 2 kits at this link as I only need two one to go down and one to come home. I will also carry all documentation with me from SXM EAHS saying this is approved and the email I sent clearly states this is a Home test that is supported with telemend video proctoring https://store.optum.com/shop/products/abbott-binaxNOW-COVID-19-ag-at-home-test-kit-2-pack/ I have also looked at the report that the lab emails you in pdf format and it has every element that is required by the SXM EAHS,I went itme by itme and ticked them off. I went to this site, took a screen shot of Step #7 and then zoomed in and checked all of the needed elements appeared on the lab report that SXM needs https://www.emed.com/airline-travel...A2Hif0T_2nmMQy64XHh7-GVQYFBoCJugQAvD_BwE
You may need to zoom in on the attachments as my only option was to save as a PDF (using a Chromebook) or print so here are screen shots Good Luck and Happy COVID Free travels!!
I replied to your message and I also saw that Kathy posted a long missive here. Kathy knows exactly what she is talking about and I concur, agree, affirm and attest to what she has written. She has invested a fair amount of time in running down all of this information on BinaxNOW and confirming information with EHAS. Hopefully, many members of the forum can benefit from her hard work and willingness to share.
I am leaving 10/30-11/16 I also have to give a big shout out to bdeeley as he has done this legwork as well and has helped me emensley! I am going to be ordering my kits tonght!
