Heading to Puerta Vallarta next week and will spend a couple weeks cruising the Bay of Banderas with a buddy on his newly acquired 37' mono.
Anyone care to share experiences, recommendations or advice?

I've spent a fair amount of time in Puerto Vallarta, but the only sailing I've done there was on a Hobie Cat.

If you plan on picking up a slip in the marina, Victor's is a good restaurant there.

Lots of places to walk/explore/eat/shop along the Malecon and the surrounding area.

A friend of mine loves the town of Yelapa, on the south side of the bay, but I've never been.

Dan cheers

We’ve not sailed there other than a day and night sail or two. I can say we enjoy staying in the Romantic Zone with the many excellent restaurants. And a sail to Yalapa would be a nice day, kinda like going back in time. And of course a stop at the Marietas islands for snorkeling.

I guess there is no forum here for other areas of Mexico like Puerto Vallarta, perhaps a new forum for the Mexican Riviera/Baja would be an option? Many popular destinations there…
