Easter Sunday, 2022

Slept late but still up and at ‘em by 7 a.m. No coffee home this morning since we were gonna’ see a man about a bridge and hopefully, some boats.

Well, the bridge happened, but the boats? Not so many. A few day-tripper boats leaving the lagoon but most of the huge yachts are either gone to their distant ports already or are staying put wherever for the long holiday weekend. But we did enjoy our breakfast at the Yacht Club along with a quick visit with Monique (Mo, Moss or whatever the many names she’s known by…..). Eggs Benedict and Texas style French Toast with coffees and fresh squeezed oj that came to $40.00 with tip included. It was all very good.

Back to the villa for a long and strenuous day of doing absolutely nothing. The most arduous thing we did all day today was decide where to eat dinner and that was stressful. We ended up at Sublime and had a wonderful dinner. I’m not gonna’ say how much we spent beyond it being a small fortune in my book, but IMHO, it was worth every cent and we did have a very generous gift certificate to apply. We had apps, drinks (I even had two of something called - are you ready for this - Porn Star Martinis and they were delicious. DH had his rack of lamb and I had my lobster tails and DH had a creme brûlée for dessert. And of course, complimentary shots to settle it all down. Couple of little piggies if you want to know the truth. We ran into Shirley and Lesley Bruce there - those locals know all the best places. We also learned the restaurant will comp your parking in the Maho garage if you bring your receipt.

On our way home - well, not really - we stopped in and made small deposits at the Porto Cupecoy Casino. It was deader than dead there again.

Home to BSV and out there, parked in our watery back yard, is an absolutely gorgeous huge yacht all brilliantly lighted and bobbing on the waves. Gorgeous end to another really nice day.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter ot whatever holiday you might be celebrating.

Respectfully,

pat

Pat you're a great story teller and when my wife and I read that the most arduous thing you did all day was to decide where to go for dinner and it was stressful we lost it that was us for thirty days in a row and throw in where to go for lunch, vacationing is hard work. A nice problem to have though.
We made it home safe and sound and get this the flight landed 57 minutes early.

Carol,

You really do need to try it at least once, but I’m thinking you’ll probably return more often than that.

We dined inside our first or second visit and decided we’d rather eat outside. Even with all the street noises it was preferable for us and that’s what we’ve done every time since. I rarely do food photos - heck, I rarely remember to do photos at all - but the red lighting isn’t to my taste either.

The lovely Lela from Serbia was once again our waitperson and she was delightful, as always.

Respectfully,

pat

Unless it's really HOT, we prefer to eat outside also. When you eat indoors in SXM with a/c, many times it seems you could be anywhere in the world. I prefer to feel like I'm on island, with island sounds and views.

Question regarding comping for the parking, the restaurant just gives you money, or you just tell the parking people you ate there and they don't charge?

Love Sublime and those Pornstar Martinis especially during happy hour when they are only $7.

Pat indicated " We also learned the restaurant will comp your parking in the Maho garage if you bring your receipt."
Parking lot next to SSBB does the same for SSBB customers.

Take your ticket with you to the restaurant, and they will stamp it. Give the stamped receipt to the attendant when you leave.
