It was just announced that, effective August 15,there will be " limited retail and food and beverage services in the departure hall." They expect this to last for two weeks.

Not sure what that means. There's not a hell of a lot there now. Are they relocating where the food and beverages are?

Maybe something to do with the A.C. installation?

We flew out of SXM Saturday the 13th and the only AC was at the bar downstairs.

We flew out yesterday, AC only in the bar at gate8, dominos, the burger joint and the ice cream stand is all that was available upstairs, no gift shops either

Thanks for the info. So obviously their estimate as far as when the a/c was going to be completed was wrong...

Just like when we were kids. Best lunch was from home in a brown bag!!! Best advice, make a pitstop before you check in and brown bag it! Food in the airport is horrible!! IMHO!

The a/c was supposed to be fixed by that weekend. The limited food and beverage service I think they said was going to take a couple of weeks.
