Carol or Eric can you make this a new thread? Thank you only on my second cup of coffee

It never gets old walking through Tortuga restaurant to grab a bite to eat and a refreshing drink at the Driftwood Bar bar in Maho
The craziness was going on as a ship was in port, besides watching the planes, watching the "cruisers" is sometimes just as entertaining
It is almost illegal to not order the rum punch or a frozen BBC
My wife wondered where the former bartender is working, I believe she was Venezuelan and was a knockout always showing her asset, last I saw her she was working on the boardwalk

Anyon eknow where she is?

we shared fried calamari, my wife had another chicken shawarma, while I took care of my one hamburger on the island fix
maybe not the best burger on the island but it hit the spot
the shawarma was tasty and big enough for leftovers for lunch
a good mix hung out at the bar
Always enjoy the short walk to chill and enjoy lunch

Pretty sure in all our trips we have never traveled the 20 minutes ride to Emilio's for dinner
it is located on bush road a few minutes from Mark's
only three circles away from RI in Maho
the restaurant is located in an old sugar boiling plantation
Norm (owner) greets all tables and pardoned himself for being short as he was going home to his wife but he did chat with us for quite a while as we share some similar interests
we were still in good hands as his niece was looking over the restaurant

They have a long, long list of specialty drinks and i choose the last one on the list the pornstar martini
i have enjoyed this at Sublime and this version was equally as good sans the shot of Prosecco on the side (it's a smooth cocktail)
MLW had the usual mojito on the sweet side

Emilio's offers a $56 three course price fix with a few surcharges on such items as Filet, Short ribs

my wife started with the goat cheese and beet salad, this is something I make at home but it was a nice light start to the meal
I tried a menu addition of Wagyu tar tar which was a bit different in that the beef was not raw, but nevertheless very tasty

another standby for my wife is risotto and tonight her main course was served with about seven good sized shrimp, best risotto so far as it was nice and creamy and on the risotto itself on the lighter side
i took our servers recommendation and selected the house specialty of short ribs
i was not mislead as a generous portion of fork tender meat was served over mashed beets
as good as our entrees were, we stopped midway to save room for desserts

Besides cheese, my wife's favorite dessert is carrot cake and Emilio's version was very moist with the cream cheese icing on the side
I took our servers suggestion an ordered the panna cotta which I am almost always disappointed with when i have it
Tonight it was served with a side of warm chocolate and when poured over, renewed my faith that it can be a good choice

The restaurant is beautiful, the service was gentile and graceful while we enjoyed a relaxing meal
My wife my the choice this evening and hit it on the nail
we look forward to a return visit next year

Emilio's does offer a sunday brunch buffet which looks very good for a cloudy Sunday or get together with friends

Nice to hear a good review of Emilio's. I went to their Sunday brunch last year and was underwhelmed.

Elaine, Thank you. I think of you everytime we drive over to Cupecoy.

We are pretty much winging it tonight after 16 nights of full out eating.
Pizza Italy is on the plan but will need to enjoy a cocktail at Astra.
Of course my wife will be surprised as I think Melina liked my wife more than me

That’s my “local”. In fact it’s really going to be my local because I’m going to try not renting a car the first few weeks. See how that works out.
