My wife and I have been to Desert Sun Resort 3 times in the past year, once for a day visit, the other 2 times were multiple night stays. We really like DSR but we're thinking about maybe trying Terra Cotta Inn too. Just wondering if anyone has been to both and can compare pros and cons for us? Thanks!

Our 2 cents, we visited Palm Springs this past summer end of June into early July 2014. We split our nakation evenly between TCI and DSR. Hope this helps and answers your questions. IMO, picking between the 2 will be very subjective. It really depends on what you are looking for. See our blog at:

Thanks phenude. Lots of good info in your blog. One of the things I like about DSR is volleyball on the weekends. Any of that going on at TCI?

We did the same thing. Went to DSR for a few visits, loved it there, but decided we should try other places to see what we might be missing.

We visited Terra Cotta, Sea Mountain and Living Waters.

We regretted Sea Mountain and would warn anybody about their mischaracterizations on the internet.

Living Waters was very small, very European and "healing" waterish.

Terra Cotta had very nice owners and big rooms. We left a night early, paid for the night we didn't stay there because we wanted to be fair, and went back to DSR.

We satisfied our curiosity and are still thrilled with DSR.

TCI does not have volleyball. But like I said earlier which is best is subjective it really comes down to what you want. If volleyball is important than the better option is DSR. DSR has a volleyball net set up when we were there but unfortunately there was not enough people to play.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like we'll be staying with DSR. We like the larger grounds, the 3 pools and the volleyball. Still might day visit TCI just to check it out but sounds like DSR is the place for us.

Terra Cotta does allow day visits for a fairly reasonable fee. That would allow you to check it out for a nominal cost. They have a "day room" where you can keep you personal items while there. Towels provided. The number of day visitors is limited so if interested call ahead.

Two completely different venues. Don't try and compare them. Each have their own following and people prefer one over the other for different reasons.

Please ... let's not start this discussion over again. It'll only turn negative and that's not fair to either venue.

Sorry ... didn't realize I was not logged in. That's my post above and for the record... yes, we've been to both, prefer one over the other but still like visiting both. Last time this was discussed ... it went really badly.

I would have to agree with FireProf. Picking one over the other is very subjective, what one couple likes another may not. These are both great nude resorts for different reasons. Simply visit both. I doubt you will be disappointed with either.
