Booked the redeye one way Seattle through CLT First Class for 1,008 arriving on a Saturday. I'm sure it'll change but at least it's done. Now have to wait 4 weeks to book return.

When I was booking my November/December flights, I was outraged at the prices: $1500+ one way first class. I was commiserating with Todd, who had booked one way at $6xx one way for a little later in November. I found that if I changed the days a little bit, I could also get $6xx first class one way. I guess you don't have that luxury if you are tied to timeshare check-in dates. But saving over $900 one way was a big deal for me.

I do have that flexability as I have 4 weeks to work with my timeshare. I could come or leave a few days earlier or later in the week. I also have the ability to add on days for 99.00 a day if i need too. I just elect to get there on a Saturday to begin my stay and also better for my guests that come sometimes. Friend told me that if i don't spend it my kids will. LOL

Booked our May flight arrival a few days ahead of you. Should be able to book the return in a couple of weeks. Always fun to plan ahead.

Do you find it cheaper to buy one way coming and going rather than round trip?

Tim, Not Scuba but we almost always book each of our flights one way. It might be less expensive but no guarantees on that. To me the big advantage is you can take advantage of specials from multiple airlines and you can use both points (or miles) if you have them for one way and dollars for the other which often helps lower the costs a bit. You can also book early flights in and later flights home if that works for you. 🙂🙂
