I posted earlier that I went to Oceans82 the other night and got the lemon dessert. IMO a very poor substitute to the ones we had years ago. Lhbsurf said he heard that the chef opened his own place, erb923 said there was a place near the LeaderPrice that had lemon desserts - so that sounded good. I also received a message from another site that yes it was the same pastry chef.
Went today and talked to the server. I explained my disappointment with the lemon at Oceans82, she confirmed he used to be the pastry chef at Oceans82 and said she would call the chef and called him on the phone. He arrived shortly and I showed him a photo of the lemon from Oceans82 - he did not say much but shook his head - apparently not impressed with the shape of the lemon, nor of course with the filling. We will only be here a few more days, so we picked up 3 desserts. It is directly across from the Leader Price on the road from Grand Case to Orient. Not open on Monday.

Thanks for the info, the desserts look delicious. We will be on island soon and will definitely stop there. We've never had one of those lemon desserts and they are mentioned quite often on this forum.

Had the lemon tonight. Was worried it would not be as good as I remembered - how wrong - it was as good if not better than I remembered. The current one at Oceans82 is a totally different dessert- and IMO, no where near as good.

Glad you were happy. Sounds like something a lot of other people should try.

And is OCEAN82, not Oceans82.

Thank you for scouting this out and sharing photos! I wanted to find it in January but, there's never enough time for *everything*. It all looks beautiful.

Pastries look wonderful. We will definitely be stopping there in April. So much good food…so little time.

Erb923 have you purchased fish there? What do they usually have stocked for fish? Would definitely like to cook good fresh fish for a change.

They usually have Mahi and Wahoo at a minimum. Sometimes other options as well.

They also carry smoked fish which is great on salads or a charcuterie type spread, I think they do it in house or locally have someone smoke it.
