About a week ago, we felt like doing a little boat trip around the Simpson Bay Lagoon but did not want the hassel or cost of renting a boat. Doing a little internet surfing we found a link for the Explorer Island tour and cruise. This is geared toward the cruise ship folks and includes a bus tour and lagoon cruise on their double decker yellow boat that you've probably seen.

https://toursxm.com/explorer-cruise/

We definitely did not want an island bus tour but the cruise sounded nice. So we got a phone number (1-721-543-0068) from the link and called Eddie seemingly the organizer. He was fine with us doing just the boat cruise for $20 pp. It actually was quite good. The trip is advertised as 45 minutes but turned out to be a little over an hour. If you're so inclined, it also includes free soft drinks, beer, rum punches, rum & cokes etc.

The boat leaves from it's home in Simpson Bay near Astra, etc. Eddie told us to just show up about 10:15 for a 10:30 departure. This worked out perfect since we just had to walk a few steps from our condo rental at Simpson Bay Yacht Club. We boarded the boat, took some good seats upstairs and got a chance to chat with Iggy the bartender for a while before the cruisers arrived on the bus. The tour was narrated and had music as well. The music was just a bit louder than we would play it, but not annoying. The cruise ship folks were a pleasant older crowd which was obviously fine.

Turned out be be a good hack. I think it may leave at different times depending on the cruisers schedule.

Thanks for the report. Seems cheap enough, although I would prefer to leave the lagoon.

We have tried to get information on that for some time now as we wanted to give it a try but were never able to find any details. Thanks.

Interesting. Will have to look into it when we return in July.
