When Hurricane Louis hit SXM and there was no electricity, I remember the largest cargo plane landed in SXM in 1995. Today with green energy the power companies get more pressure to be GREEN but if all is not in place that would not have helped this energy situation. For example Ecuador: A drought brought on by the El Nino climate phenomenon has affected production at hydro-electric dams, which are Ecuador's main source of electricity, leading to planned power cuts and energy imports from neighboring Colombia. https://www.reuters.com/world/afric...gency-names-interim-minister-2024-04-16/
