Heading to Orient Bay late September. What’s the protocol for adult beverages on the beach? Can you bring a cooler with your own? Are there plenty of places to walk to get drinks and take to the beach if not?

Thanks

Yes you can bring your booze/cooler, just don't set up directly in front of beach bars/restaurants where they have their own loungers. Sounds like you have never visited, tons of choices on the beach to grab a drink or food.

Maybe check out some of the tourist sites like this to get a better idea of what it is like.

As erb said, sounds like you have never been to SXM. Orient is lined with beach bars, most of which have drink service at your chair. As far as bringing your own cooler, most of those beach bars don't want you to bring your own cooler, since they sell drinks. The former Club Orient beach is the exception to that, as many or most people who go to that section will bring their own coolers, with a couple drinks, or even food.

As far as walking, it sounds like perhaps you are not planning to rent a car? I do hope you are going to rent a car, as while Orient Beach is great, there is a whole lot more to see on the island than just Orient.

If you have other questions, please feel free to post here.

We always take a small soft sided cooler with us for some water and libations. If we are paying for our chairs I have no problem taking alcoholic fixings with us. If chairs are free then I'll only take water and let the attendant know I have water in my cooler and by drinks from them. Never have had a problem even on Anse Marcel where I only take some water.

There is an empty section in front of the main parking lot, where you can drop "anchor" with your own chairs and cooler. No problem!!
