Friday is another delightful lazy day by the pool but we arrive a bit earlier than usual since our dinner plans are earlier as well

Our pool in our complex is empty at most times while we spend most of the day there while taking an hour break to go in and have a simple lunch of food purchased from Super U earlier in the week

Plans for dinner is to meet our friends from Saba who we visited last year at Jai comptempory Indian cuisine at 630 since they like eating early

We leave at 515 hoping for no bad traffic and maybe try to find caribe lee in maho or stop by RI La Page to greet our friends who just arrived today
We didn't even get 5 minutes and the road is blocked off forcing bumper to bumper traffic though the north end entrance of Grand Case along the right of the Grand Case airport

It took about 20 minutes to get through to reach the end of GC boulevard near Rainbow and mr trenches.

After that was smooth sailing and we arrived in simpson bay after a 50 minutes drive. Not wanting to chance we cruised simpson bay and returned to Jai restaurant about 15 minutes early

We greet the chef and pop in next door at Pizza Italy for a brief hello and chat as we will eating there next week with a large group celebrating with our friends who had just arrived on island
Pizza Italy was packed at 900 when we left

Our Saba friends arrived exactly on time unlike 2 years ago when there were 15 minutes late and I just chalked it up to that they are always on island time

Although being the first party sat the dinningroom was completely full by the time of our departure.

We enjoyed a leisurely meal, never rushed with attentive service

Jai offers modern food with an Indian twist, prices are reasonable
Most of the appetizers are shareable allowing to taste several starters

Our first couse included my wife's favorite blistered buratta, the truffle humus was a big hit with pita bread "fries" for dipping, lightly battered cauliflower with a just right "wing sauce " and foie gras nan.

Entrees included a whole branzino which i enjoyed last year, a perfectly cooked sliced duck breast which i enjoyed 2 years ago, my wife choose gnocchi with shrimp which was well executed and I had lamb wellington with off couse and Indian twist.
Lamb was baked perfectly inside a puff pastry an topped with a rich reduction sauce.
I made a great choice with this new menu item

Although we were all full, we all shared a few bites of Jais homemade Dubai chocolate bar which is elusive back home and usually fairly pricey.

We all had a wonderful evening as I thanked the chef and mentioned our best meal there yet

A quick 30 minute ride back to Orient and we stopped by Sao in the village to chat with our Italian friends who were enjoying there after dinner drinks

After 6 nights of fine dinning, we have no future gourmet meals until we move to maho on Wednesday.
A bit bummed Le cool heure is closed for lunch.
Sorry Linda no review as her food on Facebook as looked great lately

That Lamb and Duck really got my attention. I'll have a hard time deciding between the two.

Hello Linda,

Yes I know you enjoy duck.,my friend gave me his duck leftovers since it was a generous portion and it was still very good reheated for today's lunch

Le Coll Heure closed until the start of school per fb page.

Luckily in our rental complex are two local school teachers who said school starts i believe next week.

We will need to drive up on a cloudy day from Maho since it's one of my wife's favorite
