We just got back last night from seven wonderful days in BVI. Won't make this trip report too detailed but if you have questions, ask away.

We stayed in a private villa in the Belmont Estate area (West End). Had a beautiful view of Sopers Hole and St. John's to the south and JVD to the north. Loved sleeping with the windows open except for the 5:00 a.m. wake up call from the roosters!! Couldn't believe it. One would start and then the others would join in. Then, a dog would get fed up and start barking as if to say, "Shut Up! It's not time yet!!"

Spent first day exploring beaches (Smuggler's Cove, Long Bay, Cane Garden, Brewer's Bay. Unfortunately, the weather had done some unusual things the night before (heavy rain storms all night) so it was very windy and a bit chilly. The ocean was churned up so the snorkeling was the pits. Still a great day.

Sailed on the Dual Bliss one day. Great boat and captain, Bill. Snorkeled at Norman and Peter Islands.

The guys did some diving with Underwater Safaris and were quite impressed with them. Again, incredibly rough seas so couldn't do the Rhone but had a great time anyway.

Took ferry to JVD one day. Took cab to White Bay and drank at Soggy Dollar all day. Rained on us a couple of times but passed quickly. JVD is not to be missed!

Sailed again one day on the Aristocat out of Soper's Hole (West End). John and Sandra are delightful and showed us a wonderful time. Went to Willy T's Bar at Norman Island and could have stayed for hours. Great music, wild bartenders and a fun crowd.

Had some great meals at Jolly Roger, Pusser's (Road Town and Sopers), The Pub, Ft. Burt, Sebastian's by the Sea.

Didn't drink a ton of Painkillers (as I had previously promised!!). Instead, fell in love with the BBC (banana, Bailey's, Coco Lopez and rum). If anyone knows the proportions for the BBC I would love to have them. I am in BBC withdrawals! Couldn't get enough of them! Also drank many Banana Benders at Soggy Dollar!

Had a great trip (in spite of the roosters!!)

Questions? Ask away!

Yvette

Edited by Administrator on 2/14/01 02:42 PM.
