Matt....not including Rick (who makes videos for a living)...this is one of the BEST videos I've seen on here....with the timing in some parts and just the happy nature of your crew that truly comes across in the video. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed that! I'm not crazy about the music but...honestly....it was a perfect fit! And I can't think of more fitting music! GREAT JOB and Thanks for posting.

Sunnykm said: What is "dif"? DIF = Dread Island Fever A condition incurred from being away from the Caribbean too long. Symptoms include looking out of the window at work with unseeing eyes, imagining yourself on a sunny beach. It can never be cured, but symptoms can be relieved by visiting the Caribbean for 1-2 weeks. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Where is the footage of the old city taken? Were you able to sail there? Looks like a great break in a sailing trip.
Really nice Video thanks for sharing.

Well I'm infected! Glad to know there is no pill to cure the condition and that only a trip back will relieve the symptoms.
I'm so sick with dif, I've looked into how to get a visa and live down there part of the year (have no clue how I could support myself but I'm sure it would all work out), I browse the boats on the rental sites imagining what each one would be like to sail, spend time planning new itineraries, and listening to only songs about water and sailing on my iPhone. And for my next trip ordering a ttol fly so I can meet you all irl.
I think I need a painkiller!

I think I need a painkiller! Might be easier to just work in St. Thomas or St. John - you'll still be down there and its just as nice

I do have dif bad! This April was my third trip down and wow! It was more difficult to leave this time for some reason.
Hoping to be back sometime in next 12 months but in the meantime, I am living vicariously through the postings here on ttol. It helps with the dts of dif!
I plan to make a trip report as soon as I sift through 1,000+ photos and learn to use photobucket.
Cheers!

I just got back two weeks ago and want to post a trip report but I'm afraid it will have to be without pictures because I can't get the Photo Bucket thing down I'll try a little more because I've got a couple of good pictures of a shark I saw while snorkeling as well as a pretty big Barracuda

moonhat, there were 4 of us. We got the pineapples at Riteway and left them on the deck for a few days to ripen them.

Absolutely delightful!
We stopped over in OSJ a couple of years ago and it was one of our all time favorite trips. Your video makes me want to do it again.

Great video! Thank you for sharing!!!
We chartered Tootsie last year and LOVED her - we have the Oceanis 38 "Honeymoon Suite" from BVIYC booked for next year - just the two of us this time!

Great video. Two of my favorite places. I always intend to put a video together of our travels and never quite get to it.

Bridget, those Oceanis 38's are really great, especially for just a couple. My wife and I stayed in one in San Diego in January and its a really sexy boat. Sails well, too.
Thanks again, everyone, for the kind words. I just started getting interested in shooting video a couple months ago and I spent a lot of time on this one.
Cheers!

Cheers! Thanks, Matt - we saw her on the docks when we were down last month and really liked the look of her! Where did you spend time on one in San Diego? Was it a sailing club? We belong to Marina Sailing here in SoCal and they don't have one in the San Diego fleet. I love the idea of removing that bulkhead - I'm thinking it will make it so much easier to keep cool at night! That is by far one of the best trip videos ever - you did a great job with the editing - and I loved the music!

Hey Bridget! Thanks for the kind words.
Harbor Sailboats has an Oceanis 38. They are near the far northwest end of Harbor Island. We took her out in January a few hours into the pacific, saw some gray whales, then stayed the night at the marina.
For a couple, the open plan is really nice. It's a pretty romantic boat. You're gonna have a good time for sure.
