My wife and I along with our other travel companions had a blast on our first trip to SXM. We flew from Minneapolis on SunCountry Airlines, no delays, and only waited about 30 min. in customs line at SXM. Our Rental car was waiting for us at the airport from Automax and Sebastien let us follow him to Grand Case to get our villa keys from Amaury and Thibault Meziere at their restaurant Bistro Caribes.
We had great accomodations, we stayed at the studios of Mount Vernon at the former MT Vernon Hotel. we had a great ocean view, and it took less than 30 seconds to hit the beach. We were really impressed with Orient Beach, and enjoyed swimming & tanning each day.
We also went to Phillipsburg for shopping one day, spent one day at Pinel Island, and one afternoon at Happy Bay Beach.
All in all we had a great time, and no major hurdles to report. One of the Lolos tried to overcharge us, and we did struggle at first with the driving, but we are very happy with our trip, and are already thinking of reserving again for next year.
