Just back from lunch at The Sugar Mill..WOW. Met the new owners Dennis and Mary and they have great plans ahead and are already having a major impact. Many new items on the menu..amazing " toasties" with a variety of fillings ( I had a cheddar and tomato with mango and a delicious side salad). Everything has been painted and all the stonework blasted til it , almost, shines. The beach restaurant will stay open for lunch til three, then serve drinks and snacks all afternoon and then reopen for casual dinner. There will be a "cabana boy" in attendance on the beach..Dennis says you'll raise your flag and he/ she will bring drinks! The evening menu will be totally revamped and regulars will get a 10% discount card that also lets them use the chaises on the beach. Altogether..truly amazing news..and the staff are as excited as we are!

So great to hear. I must admit that Sugar Mill is one of my favorites on Tortola. Looking so forward to getting back to the islands and enjoying the "new" Sugar Mill. Thanks for the update Manpot.

Great to hear! We have visited Sugar Mill for the last ten years. We've always enjoyed it but did feel it had lost some of its luster in the last couple of years. Looking forward to returning in March to see all the changes (and maybe running into Malcolm on our morning walk)!

My husband was so happy to hear this. The first time he took me there in 2010 it was ok. Bananakeet was so much better. He had raved about how good it was in the past and was disappointed that it didn't stand up to his previous visits. Looking forward to trying it again in 2 weeks.
