RonDon said: Thanks for the confirmation MzLime. Hubby just woke up and said perhaps I had had too much wine last evening. RonDon said: At 7:23 (time on our condo clock) I felt & saw all the furniture, including the chair I was sitting in, move. Everything shook for about 3 mins. I was out running in the Pberg/Pt Blance area, did not feel it.

Earthquakes being felt are really not all that unusual on St. Maarten, although the first time we heard about one having happened we were skeptical.
And on another occasion, our adult kids were in one of the penthouse units above us and told us about it the following morning and we thought, like others here, 'perhaps too much vino for them last night?' - but we were assured by many it had actually happened. While their wine glasses were dancing across the coffee table upstairs, we slept right through it a floor below them.
Since then we've experienced them a few times ourselves and it is a slightly unnerving experience, and particularly so when you're in an upper unit in a tall building. I think the visual and sensory effects may even be amplified by the height, if that's possible.
