I haven't been in here for some time and it saddens me to have to come by today and bring news of Diane's passing yesterday. She had been recovering from back surgery for over two yeas but a new problem emerged just over a week ago that turned out to be liver cancer. It took her quickly and without undue suffering and pain. Many of you knew her as Lady Di and she was deeply devoted to her BVI family, most especially her dear friends on Anegada.
She is now in a better pain free place and if were betting I'd say she's standing waist deep at Cow Wreck basking in the sun with a cold Presidente in her hand. God Bless dear Di. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Love.gif" alt="" />

This is very sad.... our sympathy and condolences can never express our feeling for the both of you and our sorrow for your loss. You have many friends here on TTOL and you have been a great resource for many, and have made many friends here that do not even know you personally. I can only hope that you know that she is in a better place and is looking down... saying.. you are good and do not give up!

We, the TTOL commmunity, are so sorry for your loss... Even those that do not know you personally, will be saddened, trust me on this!

Bill, though we have never met, I have known you a long time from these boards, at least sixteen years. I am so sorry to hear of Di's passing. I know how much you cared for her and what joy the two of you shared over the years. Please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathies. Susan

Bill, I'm so happy you shared this very sad news with our TTOL family. Unlike many, Lew and I enjoyed your company at both Spyglass Villa in Leverick Bay as well as our home in Florida. We will miss her upbeat personality and constant smile. She was one of the best!! Take care dear friend.

I don't check in as often as I once did here. ..seems fate that I did tonight. Brenda and I have many trips and memories from the BVI, none better than coming up and spending time with you and Di on Anegada.

Belinda and I are so very sorry to hear of Lady Di's passing. I know from our messaging that she had been through a very tough time physically and you and she both were making the most of what you had to work with. You had a great "run" and you helped her get the most out of life as possible. She's looking down on you now and telling you to "live on" and keep the memories of all the great times sailing as she was such a great spirit and sailor.

Cheryl and I are very sorry to hear of Di's passing. We will never forget the 2003 BVI bareboat charter when we met you, Di, Mary Ann and Jeff for the first time at the Tradewinds dock. 30 minutes later we were in the back of your SUV on our way to dinner with a dozen TTOL members and we joined the group many times over the next 10 days, finishing with dinner at Leverick Bay. I had the pleasure of meeting you and your wife several years back while wading in the water in front of Cow Wreck , I struck up a conversation with this very charming lady who was wearing a hat with Agusta on it, we had a great conversation then after a bit talking with both of you I finally made the connection to travel talk. You both told me the story of how your car was stolen in Charlotte during one of your trips to the Islands, we had a great visit that afternoon. Our prayers are with you during this time of loss. Just in our short visit I could tell that you were both very special people.

I don't have the words to thank you all enough. My TTOL family was the closest for many years but we (the MODS) burned ourselves out here and had to take a break, not from you but the chore of moderating. I haven't been back often because I felt I no longer had any thing to contribute for travelers so I'm sorry I had to come back only to bear sad news. Yes, she was a bright and shining light everywhere she went and never failed to make people smile. She adored the islands with all her heart, most especially her adopted home on Anegada. We came within inches of moving there with her as island nurse but for our aged mothers we weren't able to leave.
So thank you all. I'm not sure I'll ever make it back to the BVI but if can find a way, you'll all be the first to know! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />
