We did a trip to Hawaii in Sept/Oct. celebrating a significant anniversary with a five day stay on Oahu followed with a cruise through several of the other islands. Its an incredible place but we were doing the site-seeing thing with very little beaching. We visited four islands and saw some incredible locations on each of them - it's beautiful throughout the islands but this being our second trip, we finally conceded the beaches are far superior in the Caribbean. But that is purely OUR opinion. If you haven't already been there, do make a point of seeing the Arizona Memorial - I thought I was prepared for it but I guess I really wasn't since it brought me to tears.
