My frustration level is currently at 200%. We had great trip at the end of May that included 3 days in STJ, a Festiva Charter in BVI, and a down day in STT before our return. I returned to reality a man on the run, hence the delinquent trip report. I wanted to do a good job since the trip was a 12 on scale of 1 to 10. I typed up a detailed trip report, linked all the pictures, and tried to close out some questions from post back in April about Festiva.
Those who have read my post in the past know that spelling and grammar ain’t that good, so I decide to have my sweetie proof read before I posted. Before she had a chance my laptop hard drive went to computer heaven. My IT folks said adios - boot sector corrupted, C: does not live here any more.
I do have the beginning of a blog so I will give a you a link to that, but there is no way I have the time or the energy to recreate the trip report.
The first three days blog Quick Overview
The Boat:
We were on Abilexis, a 44 foot Lagoon which is part of the Festiva Fleet. It was not a new boat, but the crew had it in immaculate condition and in working order. I would be more than happy to charter it again.
The Crew:
UN-FRIGGIN believable! Guy and Caz were born in Africa and now reside in the BVI. Guy’s sailing abilities and willingness to go the extra mile was noteworthy. What came out of Caz’s kitchen cannot be described in normal culinary circles because there are not many who have eaten African cuisine. Find a place that serves Guy’s mom’s Bobotie recipe and I will tell you that you have reached nirvana. Amazing!
Weather:
Was so-so, the week started great and slowly deteriorated to grey clouds and rain, but I am not complaining. Would not trade one second of our trip for blue skies
We got to go to all the places we hoped and even some new places.
A BIG PLUG for Capt John at Palm Tree Charters. On Sunday before our charter, we departed STJ and had a great day snorkeling and were able to drop into many of the fun spots. He then delivered us pier side to Abilexis that waited our arrival in Nanny Cay. How cool was that – not one minute wasted on the ferry.
I will try to fill in some blanks as time goes on but right now I have to attend a funeral for a hard drive, in fact I think my laptop is headed to our pond. RIP
Guy and Caz – if you are out there thanks for a great week!
