Um, Kaye, the Global Entry card is a legal form of ID that meets all the enhanced ID requirements. So, it CAN be used at the airport for the TSA folks. You don't need to carry it if you don't want, but is delivered as a by-product from CBP of a Global Entry application. This is not the the same card as the NEXUS / Trusted Traveler or "passport" card. I think you may be getting these confused.
