Facebook has been a godsend, people are connecting to missing family members, the pictures coming out are vital to getting the support they need, the info about relief efforts and drop off points, I could go on and on. Made me think if you are ever in a crisis it's really the one way to communicate as long as there is signal. The first messages coming out of the destruction were on there, not phone calls or emails.
