We decided to take a break from the beach Wednesday, and spent the day at LaVista Beach. After a walk on the beach, I made MaDouDou French toast again for breakfast, and it was better than the first day. We spent the day reading under a palapa by the ocean-front pool. The sunset was gorgeous, reddening the sky for almost an hour after it went down. Since it was the last night on the island for Annie, Red Piano was on the agenda, but first we met Patty, Todd & MJ, and Piper & Brant at White Flag for drinks and tapas. Tonight Natalie offered her olive tapas plate as a special (free with any other tapas order). David and I shared that, along with the smoked beef bruscetta and the crazy ham brochette (ham, swiss cheese, and pear). The olives and ham are served atop a nicely dressed green salad, so even though these are tapas, they really are a complete meal. After an hour or so there, four of us headed on up to the Red Piano to see the Gomez Brothers on their last night there. The place was absolutely packed, and we had such a good time. Of course, it was fun to see Elaine and Annie again. Unfortunately, as the evening wore on, the cigar smoke got pretty thick, so we left while the others were still partying.
Thursday morning has dawned hot and sunny, with little or no breeze. I think it feels like an Orient day…
