We settled into our watch schedule, three teams 3 hours on and 6 hours off as we headed to Nevis about 100 miles away. There is nothing I love more than sailing at night, and this one was amazing. The moon was not due to come out until the wee hours of the morning and the clear sky was filled with millions of stars. The lack of moonlight allowed us to see the green phosphorescence in the wake of the boat, we were also treated to the occasional shooting star, everyone was delighted in natures splendor.

The sun rises as we near the end of our 100 mile overnight passage
Upon arrival we took a mooring ball off Pinneys Beach on the sheltered side of the island. After a quick breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast we went ashore and loaded into the van Dan had hired for the day. We drove around the island stopping at various historic spots and some of the converted plantations. We had coffee was at the Hermitage Inn and walked around the lovely grounds admiring the original buildings on the property.

We also stopped at the Golden Rock Inn, where some of the crew took a walk on the hiking trail while the rest of us had a drink and took in the scenery. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone visiting the island, the garden and buildings and glorious.

Lunch was on the north side of the island at the Sunset Beach Bar with St. Kitts in the distance, and then continued on our way. We made a quick stop at Oualie Beach for a drink and to check out the restaurant in anticipation for tomorrows outing. After returning to Charlestown we parked the car near the ferry dock and headed back to the boat for the evening for drinks and dinner.
