Thanks to all who post, you helped make our 4th trip to SXM a great one.

As always we stay at the Sonesta, we usualy get pretty good deals out of Toronto. Management has changed there since our last trip 3 years ago. For the most part the changes are good ones, a few odd changes but we had no complaints for the most part. Staff were especially friendly this time around.

Sand gravity hit hard, we spent most of our beach days at Mullet and all but one day the water was perfect. We did go to Anguilla one day and sat at Elodias, perfect day to say the least. Usualy costs us about $100 each for this day trip and believe me it's worth every penny.

We went into Philipsburgh one day for some shopping. Stopped by DK Gems as usual but didn't purchase anything this time around. My husband and brother got great deals on new watches and they bought a few other items as well. We had lunch at The Greenhouse and it was very nice.

My husband while lurking on this site insisted we try Pineapple Pete's this time around and we really enjoyed our evening there. I had seafood which was delicious, my travel mates had to have a cheeseburger while in paradise. The entertainment was great and we all agreed it would be on our list to return. The bill with drinks, apps and meals was $98 plus tip, very reasonable for 3.

We didn't plan to have dinner at Cheri's but the Sonesta had nothing to offer one evening so we decided to have dinner and take in the show. We were pleasantly surprised at the food and would certainly not hesitate to return.

We had dinner at The Point restaurant which is part of the AI package at the Sonesta. Only because it was inlcuded did we go. I would not recommend this restaurant to outsiders as there are to many other wonderful options for you. As part of the AI it was fine.

We also had dinner at Sopranos which we have been to before.
As always we enjoyed our pasta at reasonable prices.

We were sitting at the upper beach at Sonesta on the 4th of April and witnessed the Jet Blue sand blast that people reported on. We all agreed we had never seen such a blast. As a matter of fact we could not see anyone getting injured because there was just to much sand flying to see anything.
Hope those injured are ok.

SXM is our favorite island destination, we hope to return soon and we do appreciate all who post here with valuable information.
