We stopped by to see Bernadine Ali today. She's in dire need of help. The owner of the property where she lives and has her rescued cats and dogs has passed away, and the family is selling the property. She will need a place soon. But she has currently 15 kitties and 2 extra dogs, that all need adoption. She has no running water or electricity but is making do. And she recently fell and hurt her back. She has cats who found her or who were given to her because their owners left the island. All but one are spayed. Most are older kitties, but they all need homes. She asked that I reach out to this community to somehow get the kitties and dogs adopted so she can find a new place with peace of mind knowing her rescues have been taken care of. She had nothing, yet whatever little she has goes to the animals who find their way into her care. Please go to the old Paradise View on the French side and, bring some canned food (one really old kitty only eats Fancy Feast) or dry food for them. This community does a lot; I'm reaching out to you to help her too.
