We are leaving tomorrow for a ten day trip to Spain. Definitely a destination and vacation that is long overdue for us.

My wife and I will be returning to the city where we were foreign exchange students many moons ago. Located a few hours NW of Madrid is the city of Salamanca, which is where we will spend the majority of our time. The University of Salamanca is the third oldest school still in operation today, and dates back to 1200. Columbus had to convince scholars and geographers at the university that there was land across the ocean before the crown would fund his journey.

This vacation will take us down memory lane, but I hope to capture the beauty of Salamanca in photos and descriptions in the blog. Of course there will be a few memory lane off ramps wink
