On one charter we took the version with the two loops and had the same problem described by captaindennyj when trying to board using the bottom loop. We were experimenting near the yacht so it wasn't critical and didn't try to use the higher loop, but avoided situations where it may be necessary to use it. On our recent charter we rented a dinghy ladder which looked like it would work better but never had occasion to use it.
