IF you purchase 'cancel for any reason' insurance, which is significantly more expensive than other insurance, it would cover Covid 19, because you don't NEED a reason to cancel. Generally it has to be purchased VERY near in time to when you make the original purchase of the travel. That is usually defined as something like within seven days of purchase. You could check with TTOL sponsor Insure My Trip to compare insurances side by side. Now, a DIFFERENT question is whether any companies are even writing 'cancel for any reason' insurance right now. That I don't know, but Insure My Trip should know the answer. By the way, if you click on the TTOL sponsor link for Insure my Trip, your cost is exactly the same as if you had gone directly to their website, but TTOL gets a small commission.
