Give it time, the Americans with Disabilities Act will be all over this.
For people to get an accommodation under ADA, that accommodation can not put others at risk. That is why the ADA would not cover an accommodation for someone to be exempt from a mask requirement. Sadly, it is s system ripe for abuse. Look at the abuse of handicap parking placards, service dogs, etc. We see it ALL the time when we travel with our dogs. I have seen a lot of FAKE "service dogs" and they do put others at risk, I have personally witnessed it. A couple of lawsuits and things could easily change.
