Ok lets see, hmm well we flew out of Toronto at 7 a.m. on the Saturday morning, good thing no poles near the gangway to get your tongue stuck on. It was so cold, that if you bumped your crotch it would have shattered like a light bulb, well for us guys anyway.
Caught an awesome tail wind and landed only 3 hours and 45 minutes later, a record for us from Toronto. Too bad it was an Air Bus 320 though on Sky Service, my nose got chaffed from the back of the seat in front of me. Partly cloudy and about 80/85, I think my brain was somewhat affected, though Patti would tell you I am like that all of the time, anyway.
Lesley Bruce of Kenny's met us right on time as usual just outside the gate with a brand new Corolla and we were on our way. As Divi Little Bay has a 4 p.m. check in, we went for a spin. Most of the main Grocery stores are closed on Sunday so we went over to Costuless just pass the roundabout at the foot of Cay Hill and bought a large bottle of purified water (less than 4.00)and a package of Eggos/Waffles/French Toast about 9.95 which lasted most of the week. The water at all of the Resorts is certainly drinkable, but coffee and tea are much better with bottled water. P.S. Costuless had about 4 Security Guards near the front entrance and it closes at 3 p.m. on Sundays. There was no problem though, we never felt safer.
Drove over the the Canaversari Resort and met Craig Roberts of Pack Light and picked up our chairs and umbrella (25 US for the week) of course I couldn't drive by the Sunset without a refreshment so we sipped a few watching a few planes dust the beach.
Finally on to Divi, checked in and made camp in our timeshare unit. Having got up at 3 am in Toronto we were not particularly perky, so after lounging around we decided to dine at Peg Legs Saturday night, so drove over and met Shawn who we provided with his previous years request for some Old Port Cigarellos. Had their awesome filets (8 point Patti rated) and a few drinks with Jack at the Bar , then back to Divi to collapse for the night. Island fabulous green as many have previously noted, good to be home.....
Up Sunday albeit late morning and by the time we got out and motoring we ended up at Rics, to say hi to Kathy and enjoy great burgers. Too early for the game but noticed a centre table reserved for the Colts, seems the fan had been there since 9 am. We left before the game, I was convinced the Colts would prevail, oh well at least I picked the right team for the second game. LOL Left to go out to tour the island. Dropped by Suzy's Antiques beside the Police Station across from Ricks, now open 7 days per week between 10 am and 1 pm. Suzy noted for those interested that all of her antiques are from Holland.
Did some cruising then back to freshen up for Dinner. I had bragged to Patrick and Cassandra (from Ottawa) on our flight down about Bamboo Bernies "all you can eat ribs and all you can drink beers for 25 US. Unfortunately, they recently changed a number of their previous specials and it is no longer. Kinda embarrassed when they showed up there too and discovered my errant tip was wrong. Anyway, ordered Ribs which showed up with a pile of almost burnt fries. The Ribs were edible and not bad. Hey don't get me wrong, Bernies has fantastic abience and the view and fabulous drink concoctions. Patti rated 5.5 for the food at least on this visit.
Over to the Dolphin to make a donation then back to Divi to crash for the night. Stay tuned for 20th and 21st.
