As a physician in a "Hot zone" in the US, our numbers (total cases) are going up as we are testing lots and lots of people with minimal indication. Our inpatient census has been declining since July 4th and the number of ICU patients and number of patients on ventilator also continues downward.

These last 2 groups, especially the people off ventilators, is most signifciant as this is a very limited resource.

My personal belief is that there are lots of people with Covid who would never know it without very easy /frequent testing.

I also believe we can do our part by wearing mask and keeping distance. When I fly, I wear N95 and a face shield as this is what I wear for protection when I go into "the belly of the beast" where I know I will be encountering Covid 19 patients.
