NCl certainly doesn't have the lock on that type of dining, as Princess, and I'm sure a lot of other cruise lines offer what's called 'anytime dining', where you dine when you want to, not at an assigned table with the same people. I don't know whether Carnival offers that or not, don't think so, but it's been a long time since we've been on Carnival.
