I decided to do a stopover in Taipei many years ago. My flight was very late in arriving and it was now dark. This was long before internet so I booked a room at the airport reservation desk and got on the bus to downtown. Unlike Hong Kong, nothing was in English and I had no idea where I was so I decided to get off the bus where there was a lot of activity. I asked a young lady if she spoke English, she did and she flagged down a taxi and told the driver where I needed to go. I've met kind people like that all over the world.
