Statia is an interesting island, with little tourism. Half of the island is covered by the oil storage facility and the other is home to the only city and the younger of the two volcanoes, "The Quill". While there are sandy beaches, they don't rival those on the other, more populous, islands. I liked it. The town is quaint, the touristic sites are all well-kept and well-marked. I hiked "The Quill" and that was great; I didn't climb down into the old caldera due to time limitations, but did climb all the way to the top. There's also an interesting botanical garden to visit; I rented a moped so that I could visit all the sites in style. ![[Linked Image]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c1/Quill_path_signpost_-_panoramio.jpg)
