Where are you coming from? We are on the west coast and usually have to dedicate two days to get there and a full day return - with more connections delays are more likely as well and can potentially add a full day to the travel time. And then it usually takes a day or two to adjust to the time difference. For us it's a tough trip for just a week. That said, if it was my only option I'd still go.

If on the east coast or certain mid-west cities I think a week is more approachable since it takes much less time to get down and the time change isn't as significant. Especially if flying out of a major city with direct flights to STT or SJU.
