Below is my message to Jax steakhouse
While the food was excellent, our dinning experience was not what were expected
Please keep in mind we are never in a hurry and are very understanding but do have expectations when going to a restaurant of this quality
I always think a early smile can go a long way and we just got off to a bad start
There is a restaurant we hope to visit this evening that I would go to even if the meal was not good because of the excellent staff
While I praise great meals and service, I believe they should know when a customer leaves disappointed
If ever one of my guests is unhappy, it hurts and never want it to happen again
Luckily I can only remember one Bridezillas and one nasty mother of the bride who wanted all the attention
For below average I still left 15% which was $50.00

On a good note we won the gratuity back at the casino in about 5 minutes playing the slots in a hit and leave

Good Morning Jax,

We celebrated our anniversary last year and had a great experience.
Unfortunately this year was a bit of a different experience.
We waited a bit to be greeted as there was no hostess for the evening and shown to a very dark table in the corner by the bar while the candle on the table was never lit.
The server was not very welcoming or introduce himself as it seemed he was very busy.
The table also seemed a bit small.
Someone took our water order as we waited a bit for a cocktail order to be taken.
Seemed to be some confusion on who was serving us as a waiter came over and asked if anyone took our drink order.
Someone took our drink order and over 10 minutes latter a server came to take our food order before we had received our drinks. I explained I would prefer to have my cocktail first and he said the bar was busy.
Last year our server actually had too much time to spend with us and this year it seemed the servers were scattered all over the restaurant and not having a station to watch over.
Although several food items were not available, we already knew we wanted to enjoy a tomahawk chop like we had last year only to be told the only ones were 70 and 72 ounces. This really is a bit much for just 2 guests.
We enjoyed our drinks and when the server came back to take our order he said we were lucky as those two were sold and a new one was cut and it was 64 ounces, still too big but we prefer this cut of meat.
After I finished my cocktail it took a bit for someone to notice it was empty and to ask if I wanted another drink. Once a glass of wine was ordered, it did arrive quickly.
On the positive, our appetizers were very good.
While enjoying our dinner both tables next to us celebrated their birthdays.
Our steak was cooked perfectly with two tiny sauces on the side, both were tasty but with a steak of this size and a hefty price, you could provide additional sauce with no upcharge
Also included were 2 starches, back at our favorite steakhouses over a choice of two side dishes, not just two starches.
I understand the upsell, but again with a $250 steak, you can afford to put out $3.00 worth of spinach
Both tables next to us finished before our entrée arrived and the waiter was excellent and moved us to a larger table with more light. This was very much appreciated.
Now that the restaurant was emptying out, the service became friendlier
While our server was sometimes not around, another server filled my empty water glass
After dinner we looked over the dessert menu and decided to enjoy dessert somewhere else
Our anniversary was never acknowledged as it was on our reservation
The night before we had recommended Jax to some friends to celebrate his birthday and they had nothing but positive comments
I read a lot of reviews and Jax are always positive, unfortunately our experience was not up to standards

Your response would be appreciated,
