I really enjoy reading everyones' comments and reports here but I am SO BAD at posting myself. Sorry! It's hard to believe we have been back home for a month already.....
We spent the first week of December on a Freedom 40, "Morning Light" out of Stardust Charters. It was our first experience with a Freedom and with Stardust and I know we will definitely do both again! The boat was very comfortable, good use of space and easy to sail. She had good speed and stability. We did encounter a couple of technical difficulties but they could have happened on any boat at any time. The boat was extremely well maintained and in perfect condition. Stardust bent over backwards to straighten out our problems and we think they are great! Neither problem interfered with our trip or our enjoyment in any way. They are well located there in Hodges Creek and we liked "Fat Hog Bob's" restaurant. Good food, good service and good prices.....what more could one ask for? We spent one night at the Hodges Creek Marina at the end of our trip and that was fine too.
We probably had better sailing this year than in the past five years....the winds were great! We spent our first and last nites at the Bight......the ribs at Billy Bones were just as wonderful as we remembered and so were the steaks at the Willy T. We had lots of fun (and yummy drinks) at both places too. Somehow there seemed to be more people everywhere we went than other years.....??? There was a big crowd at The Last Resort and great entertainment (I can't remember the entertainer's name, for Pete's sake, but he was good!) The only place that seemed quiet was Foxy's...we found it expensive there this time around..... but there sure were some beautiful boats anchored there! We enjoyed all the usual snorkellling spots, with Monkey Point being our favourite, as always. We skipped the Rhone site as it was too rough out there the day we checked it out. Spent half a day laying on the beach and playing in the surf on Sandy Cay.....quite a few other people there too. Spent a couple of hours all by ourselves at Fallen Jerusleum.....we've never had to share that beach! All in all, an absolutely fantastic vacation! Again! This place never lets us down! Anyway, just wanted to share a few details to ease my guilty conscience......
