Okay as we have a lot of information to share, this will be in a few parts to get it all in. A 3 a.m. Airport arrival in Toronto and a flight out on an older 757, a bit cramped but basically good flight, then a noon landing on the Island. After a two year absence, glad to be home! Met as usual on time by Lesley Bruce of Kenny's Mr. Reliable. Drove over to DIVI to check the luggage first as you can't check in the Unit until 4 pm.
Then back to the Sunset. Service a bit slow with only one girl run off her feet serving drinks but finally another appeared and not bad after that. We certainly were not ignored and enjoyed a Hot Dog, yep 6 bucks but your paying for the aircraft entertainment which was awesome as always. Wish they still had the speakers from the Control Tower. Parked in the Canavasari Resort there,(drive in under the Dunes Arch). A couple of hours there then on to the Grand Marche for some Breakfast and Snack foods for the week. Drive down thru Simpson Bay and keep on trucking past the Phillipsburg cutoff and go left around the bend down thru Cole Bay. Watch for the Texaco Gas Station on the left, the Grand Marche is in behind it.
Now on to Divi. Very impressed with the condition of the Resort given the damage photos back in October from Omar. If anyone has specific questions, email me as I have already provided the information to others. Also our Unit was finally rennovated being second to last up the hill(pre-Omar arrangement) we shared in the expense as Owners but were very impressed with how the Unit was upgraded with new doors, windows, furniture, appliances, Shower and Tub, TV and DVD Player, though the reception was no hell.
Tired but out to Marks Place that night, having drove by it for 10 years and seeing great reports here about Ribs, we figured time to check it out. Special, 12 bucks all you can eat, so we ordered them. Now we are not the Gourmets like Ed and Sandra were but we know what tastes good, so from the Galloping Lunch Bucket, here goes. My fries were luke warm, the veggies of the frozen variety and a bit soggy, but the ribs were fabulous! Entertained to by the Dog with it's head stuck thru the perimeter railing and Patti dispensed her critter goodies to it later.
Stay tuned for Scilly Cay and Pineapple Pete's adventures tomorrow! Still catching up from Island Time at work, Yawn!!
