Carol, The official snow measurement for Washington, DC is Reagan Airport. Due to some atmosphiric quirk, the snow let up there for several hours in the morning while 10 miles North or West it has been snowing buckets. http://www.weather.gov/lwx/pnsmap?type=snow We have 26" on the ground and are expecting a total of 30". JFK and EWR will have 2' by the time it is over.
